This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Ubunye Online platform (ubunye.online) and any payments processed through our integrated payment partners (Paystack and any future processors). By using Ubunye Online you agree to this AUP in addition to our Terms of Service.
1. Who may use Ubunye Online
- Registered transport carriers, brokers and shippers operating legally in the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
- Authorised staff users (carrier admins, accountants, dispatchers, drivers) invited by an accredited carrier account holder.
- Account holders must be at least 18 years old and authorised to bind their company.
2. Prohibited activities
You may not use Ubunye Online or any Ubunye-facilitated payment flow to:
- Transport, broker, store or facilitate trade in unlawful, smuggled or counterfeit goods.
- Move narcotics, unregistered firearms, ammunition, explosives, wildlife or wildlife products, human remains, or any goods restricted by SARS, SARB, BURS, ZIMRA, ZRA, OFAC or UN sanctions lists.
- Submit false load, fleet, driver, insurance, customs or compliance documentation (including GIT cover, roadworthy certificates, operator cards, T1s, SAD500s).
- Process payments on behalf of a third party who has not been onboarded and KYC'd by Ubunye, or use the platform as a money-remittance / pass-through service.
- Engage in chargeback fraud, refund abuse, friendly fraud, or use stolen / unauthorised payment instruments.
- Resell, sub-license, scrape, reverse engineer, load-test or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform, APIs or partner integrations (Afriwallet, payment processors, map providers).
- Impersonate another carrier, driver or business; misrepresent your accreditation status, insurance cover, or operating authority.
- Send spam, harass other users via the marketplace / messaging features, or post discriminatory or unlawful content.
3. Payments & financial conduct
- All card and EFT payments are processed by licensed PSPs (Paystack for ZAR cards and EFT; Paystack). Ubunye does not hold customer card data.
- You must use your own legally registered business bank account for payouts and refunds.
- Refunds, disputes and chargebacks are handled under our Refund Policy and Dispute Resolution procedure.
4. Data & privacy
You must only upload personal information (driver IDs, contact details, company documents) that you are lawfully entitled to process under POPIA / GDPR / equivalent SADC law. See our Privacy Policy.
5. Enforcement
Violations of this AUP can result in: warning, suspension of specific modules, full account suspension, forfeiture of subscription fees, reversal of payouts pending investigation, and reporting to the relevant regulator or law enforcement (including SAPS, SARS, the FIC and equivalent SADC bodies). Repeat or serious violations result in permanent termination and being added to our internal block list.
6. Reporting abuse
If you believe another user is violating this AUP, email abuse@ubunye.online with the carrier name, account email and a description of the conduct. We aim to acknowledge reports within one business day.
